Slalom Rules & Guidelines

The Irish Slalom Series is probably the easiest and most enjoyable way to improve your windsurfing. Running Fun, Silver and Gold fleets on each of our weekends in many locations across the Country in 2014 provides the perfect opportunity for everyone to get involved.

Competing in the Irish Slalom Series allows you to meet other windsurfers from around the country and visit some of the most beautiful and wind filled destinations this country has to offer.

The series is continually welcoming new participants from beginner to winner so if you can stand on a board, attempt to gybe, why not get involved. You'd be mad not too!

GRANDFATHER MING - IRISH SLALOM AT NSC

Your image of your typical grandfather involves a pipe, slippers, watching too much telly and being nice to children - rather like Wookie really.

It doesn't involve charging around a choppy course at high speed and coming in fourth over all in the first round of the Irish Slalom Series. But that's exactly what Ming the Merciless did last weekend. And in case you're wondering why I was so indelicate in my choice of title for this missive - it's because he dictated it to me. And, like everyone else I live in fear of the platinum megalomaniac! And the day after the races he did indeed become a grand-emperor. One can only speculate if the baby had come a day earlier whether he'd have been at the bedside - but one suspects it might have turned into a water birth. At Newtownards. See results here.

Kinvara 2013

Kinvara 2013, high winds, low winds, wind swings, fun races, ranked races, silly races, mental races, survival races, storm chasing, jump off's, late nights and sneaky pints! thanks everyone for making it the best one yet! can only get bigger and better! Well done to all prize winners_ really well deserved. Here's to a great 2014 Slalom series, Cant wait!
