The IWA Wave Series is designed to cater for every level of wavesailor… from curious first timers right up to storm chasers. The general format is one of inclusion, and is aimed at helping any level of wave-sailor improve their skills, while sharing the experience with like minded sailors. There is no doubt that if you are up for the challenge, the focus of competition can help push your ability, but mostly it's about getting together with your peers and seeing what it's all about.
At every event, a mix of freesailing, competition, and expression sessions ensures plenty of time on the water. The heat system is designed to be run as quickly and fairly as possibly, using a 'repecharge' heat board, which means that everyone will get at least two chances to advance through the heats of each round. For fun fleets, and expression sessions, it usually means much more sailing, so you have to be ready for anything !
Why not give it a try if you are curious, come along and see what it is all about.
See you in the waves !

Having consulted with the head judge, IWA and local sailors it has be decided to cancel this weekend’s one day competition.
Unfortunately the wind is just too onshore and the condition of the beach from recent storms and tide times means it is unsuitable for competition.
Many thanks to the judging team who were in place, to the IWA for their support and to everyone who expressed an interest coming!
An awesome edit from the Magheroarty Classic that took place in Ireland last September, but this is no ordinary event video.
At a full 12 and a half minutes long this is a sit back a relax kind of video, with even the incredible words at the beginning drawing you in and making you realise just how amazing windsurfing is.
