Fun Gathering 3 - Glin, Limerick - Aug’24

Fun Gathering no. 3 took place at Glin, Co. Limerick on 17th August 2024…windsurfing and foiling fun!

A beautiful windy day was had by all on the banks for the Shannon Estuary at Glin , Co Limerick from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday 17th August. Conditions were perfect with a coming tide and a fresh westerly breeze which made for nice flat water sailing with over a mile of a reach to the Clare shore. We had attendees from Limerick, Clare, Kerry, Waterford and Dubin, most rigged two sets of kit both foil and fin and with the wind from 14 to 20 knots all the kit got well tested on the day. Lots of parking and plenty of grassed area to rig up made it very easy for everyone to rig and launch from half tide onwards. With the safety rib available as back up everyone could venture as far as they wished on the water and some clocked up over 75 km on the day.

We plan on running the event again next year and welcome all to come and have a go on the Shannon Estuary in 2025.
