Tom is a passionate windsurfer with over three decades of dedication to the sport. He first learned to windsurf on a lake in Poland about 30 years ago. He then spent few years working at a windsurf station in Kos, Greece, improving his skills and sharing his enthusiasm with others. Seeking stronger conditions, he relocated to Ireland, where he truly discovered the thrill of "real" windsurfing. Specializing in freestyle and wave riding—while occasionally competing in races—Tom has become deeply involved in the Irish windsurfing scene. He is best known for organizing the Magheroarty Classic, a respected 2-star IWT/PWA wave windsurfing competition held at the iconic Magheroarty Beach in County Donegal (revived in 2013 and continuing as a key event on the calendar). Driven by a love for continuous improvement and community building, Tom remains committed to advancing his own abilities while creating exciting opportunities for fellow windsurfers to ride, compete, and grow in the sport.

Julius Byrne is a windsurfer from Salthill, Galway and owner of Rusheen Bay Watersports, where he first learned the sport as a child. A two-time Irish Wave Champion and two-time Vice Champion, he also holds an Irish Freestyle Vice Champion title. Julius competes internationally alongside running the watersports centre, bringing high-level competition experience back into his coaching.

Here we observe the windsurfer in his natural habitat - most comfortable on the race course, where his competitive instincts peak. He has recently ventured into wavesailing. The ocean remains unimpressed. And yet, remarkably, he returns. Extraordinary.

Marc Roosli has many reasons to call West Cork his home, mainly because of its fantastic windsurfing beaches! A Swiss windsurfer who's lived in Ireland since 1998, Marc had a need for speed ever since he started windsurfing in Switzerland at the age of 13. Speed sailing is his favourite discipline, requiring a narrow board, the perfect weather conditions and a "go for it" mentality! His passion has seen him compete globally with the world's best, and he has big plans to not slow down any time soon!
