Freestyle

Freestyle windsurfing is an exciting and creative discipline of windsurfing that focuses on balance, board control and fun tricks on flat water. Instead of riding waves, riders use the wind to practice spins, turns and small manoeuvres, making it one of the most playful and accessible forms of the sport.

Freestyle is ideal for all ability levels. Beginners can start by learning the fundamentals such as balance, steering, sail control and basic turns in safe, shallow water. As confidence grows, riders can progress to faster turns, step-around moves and eventually more advanced freestyle tricks. It develops excellent board control and sail handling skills while keeping the learning process fun and rewarding.

At more advanced levels, freestyle becomes fast, technical and dynamic, with riders performing sliding moves, spins and aerial tricks. However, the same fundamentals are used at every stage, making freestyle a great pathway for anyone looking to improve their overall windsurfing ability while enjoying time on the water.
