The weekend saw some fabulous colourful sights in Sheephaven bay where over 80 sailors, wingers and foil racers competed for the Irish Windsurfing Association (IWA) championship. The various fleets enjoyed light winds and favourable conditions in the safety of Sheephaven bay. The event was enhanced by the arrival of the RNLI Derek Bullivant , Shannon class lifeboat and crew who came to support this fundraising event. The crew of Mulroy Coast Guard were also on hand to ensure all fleets were safe in the bay.
The Downings event is a fun family event and attracts windsurfers of every age and ability.
